Pitch and Audience Research

  1. when we presented our pitch to our class the feedback was good. our audience research, slides 7-10, show that the film we are planning to make is perfect for people who took our survey. it showed people would like to see a psychological horror set in the woods, perfectly describing our film. the feedback also showed that the audience would not want it to be too gory like films such as SAW and THE HILLS HAVE EYES. this was again good news because as a low budget media project we couldnt afford to have hollywood style special effects like proper horror films but i think the low budget horrors are the best as they seem alot more real and true to life.

  2. Our pitch was presented to the rest of the group with use of this slide show and the feedback recieved was extremely pleasing and helpful. Our title was liked by all which was good, as was the simplicity of character names, however the number of characters we planned to use was questionable which we improved upon and added another female character to the script when filming. The plot interested the group as it contained the classic horror conventions and ideologies that seemed likely to proove successful, and the unknown twist at the end seemed to excite the class. The costumes were fairly simple and acceptable so this was not a problem and the shots of the location were perfect according to the group and also the surveys carried out. The surveys were also very pleasing and were used in production in terms of constructing what we thought would be a successful opening relating to the target audience in hand.
